If you have a dog that's determined to escape, you already know that a standard rail fence isn't going to cut it. The gaps between boards are basically an open invitation. That's exactly what this client was dealing with - a solid-looking fence that just wasn't built with a dog in mind.

The fix? Running wire mesh along the interior of the existing fence line. It's one of those solutions that works really well because it doesn't change the look of the fence from the outside. The dark wire blends right into the dark-stained rails, so the fence still looks clean and sharp.

Getting it done right takes some patience though. Spaces get tight, angles get awkward, and sometimes you're wedging yourself into places you'd rather not be just to get the fasteners set correctly. That's just part of the job. We don't cut corners because the space is uncomfortable to work in.

The end result is a fence that finally does what it's supposed to - keeps the dog in and keeps the headache out. No visible gaps, no weak spots, just a clean and functional setup the client can actually rely on.

This kind of work doesn't always look flashy, but it solves a real problem. If your fence has a similar issue, the solution is usually simpler than you'd expect.
